Wednesday

Ginger continues to respond to verbal and physical cues - family also observed movement in her hand and leg today. They checked for blood clots in her legs and didn't find any. Dilantin [anti seizure medication] she has been taking is causing liver damage so they are trying a new medication and she is back on the EEG to monitor the effectiveness of the new medication. They are trying to wean her off the respirator since she is breathing mostly on her own and there is a possibility the trachea won't be needed... She still has a fever - possibly in her liver or gallbladder, in addition to her lungs.

Thank you for your continuing prayers and support.

May seem like small steps-- but huge in scope.

When you think about it, the brain is an amazing thing-- it knows it probably needed to doze off so that the brain could be managed for those days in the coma...the body is quite the engineering wonder.

All healing and positive things praying for ahead!

So glad to hear it. Keep strong and keep the faith. We'll keep praying out here. I am learning so much about her family and friends on this blog - she has quite a circle of support and some amazing forces surrounding her. That will help her heal and make forward progress inch by inch day by day. She is heading in the right direction, and you are there to help guide her. What a relief and an inspiration!

I am sending loving thoughts to all,
Nancy
